Dr. Korman leads programs and courses sponsored by national plastic surgery organizations. He also trains Stanford plastic surgery residents and plastic surgeons around the world, and has traveled to many countries to provide reconstructive surgical care to the underserved. Dr. Korman also volunteers to educate breast cancer patients on their options for breast reconstruction. With a desire to give back to the community, Dr. Korman began the Clean Slate program in San Jose, California that gives former gang members the opportunity to rebuild their lives by removing tattoos that represent their past.
Dr. Korman holds many patents for innovations in plastic surgery in the areas of skin remodeling and tissue expansion. He is also an accomplished sculptor and musician.
Dr. Korman received his Bachelor’s Degree and Medical Degree from Cornell University, where he graduated at the top of his class (Alpha Omega Alpha). He completed his plastic surgery residency at Stanford University and furthered his education and experience with fellowships at Canniesburn Hospital in Glasgow, Scotland, and a Cosmetic Surgery Fellowship in Miami, Florida. In 2021 he received the “Teacher of the Year” award from the Stanford division of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery.
